Together, even the smallest of ripples can make a wave.

I hope that by spreading this knowledge I have prevented another patient from going through the stress and fear of an uncertain diagnosis.

Meet Elissa

My young adult son was hospitalized with what was initially thought to be leukemia or lymphoma. It took several months, however when his true diagnosis of Gaucher Disease was established, I began an education campaign within the teaching hospital he was in. Besides posting information about the disease in his room, I gave each intern, resident and nursing student we came in contact with copies of a Gaucher Disease fact sheet that had been provided by the company that produces an enzyme treatment. I hope that by spreading this knowledge I have prevented another patient from going through the stress and fear of an uncertain diagnosis.
